Militants have killed eight soldiers at least in north-west Pakistan, officials say. Twenty-two troops wounded in the attack on their convoy outside Hangu city, near the border with Afghanistan yesterday. Three militants killed when the soldiers returned fire. BBC says Hangu is in Pakistan's restive North West Frontier Province, which has seen increased military activity from pro-Taleban militants. Attacks have also risen in the province capital, Peshawar. The government has sent 5,000 paramilitary troops to crush the insurgency, BBC broadcasted.
